The Resident Evil 4 remake is fast approaching – with gamers counting down the seconds until Capcom’s latest masterpiece arrives.

The game once again brings back the third-person camera angle, but updates the graphics to give a truly next-gen experience.

There are already reports coming through from the community that some gamers have managed to unlock the game early – but for most of us, we’ll need to wait until March 24 to get our hands on the full game.

Remember, there is a free preview – called the Chainsaw Demo, which can be played right now if you’re keen for some Resident Evil 4 Remake action.

But is the remake multiplayer? And does it support co-op? After all, it would be far less scary tackling a village from of zombies with a friend by your side. Here’s everything you need to know.

Is there co-op of multiplayer in Resident Evil 4 Remake?

The short answer here is no, there is no multiplayer component of the game – with Resident Evil 4 Remake being a solo, single-player experience.

There are a number of Resident Evil games, though, that did offer co-op functionality with varied degrees of success. Resident Evil Outbreak was the first of them, arriving for the PS2 in 2003.

Perhaps the most successful iteration was 2012’s Operation Raccoon City, which saw you play as part of a four-person special forces team.

The last Resident Evil game to have multiplayer and co-op was a spin off called Resident Evil: REverse – which came free with Resident Evil Village and sported a cell-shaded look, a first for the series.
