Dragon’s Dogma 2 platforms

We know that Dragon’s Dogma 2 is coming out for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. There have been no announcements about it coming to last-gen consoles or Nintendo Switch.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 story

The first Dragon’s Dogma ended with the player character, known as the Arisen, beating the dragon and eventually becoming something of a God. More confusing things happen, but we assume that’s the goal of the second game because the trailer really looks like the beginning of the first game. A dragon comes and takes the heart of the Arisen and flies away.

Pawns, controlled by AI, will loyally follow the Arisen on their quest to once again take down the dragon. There may be more of an explanation this time around. The last game didn’t give much of an explanation for many elements but the motive for pawns was a big question for players.

There are other species this time, like feline and humanoids, so we may see more than one kingdom. However, it looks like the Arisen will go after the throne of their king. As stated in the PlayStation Blog, “‘Tis a tale of one who shall slay the Dragon and claim the throne.”
