Dying Light 2 is here, and one of the things that you will notice immediately is weapon durability. The first game had a system that allowed players to repair their favourite weapons. However, it appears you cannot repair weapons in Dying Light 2. So, it means that you will need to be a bit more tactical with your favorite Dying Light 2 weapons.

There is an indicator that your weapon is about to break when its durability bar turns red. You can see an example in the bottom left of our feature image, located at the top of the article.

While there is no Dying Light 2 repair weapons feature, there are a few techniques and features you should know to slow its progress. The first is that white, green, blue, purple and yellow quality all have different repair qualities. Both purple and yellow quality weapons will last a considerable length of time before they break. Therefore, we advise using the strongest purple and yellow quality weapons and reaping havoc on your enemies and avoiding only having white quality weapons on you if you are going to be heading into a combat-heavy area. This becomes less of an issue once you get out of the early game or loot lots of locked chests.

One of the tips we recommend is to apply the reinforcement blueprint on your favorite weapon. Reinforcement mods are available to buy from Craft Masters fairly early on. Apply this to the relevant weapon mod slot and you will have a significantly reduced durability reduction when you swing at enemies.

Also, it is worth mentioning that primary ranged weapons do not have a durability feature. It means that your ranged Dying Light 2 ranged weapons will never break. However, you will need to craft ammo or salvage it from around the map to keep them useful. You will eventually unlock ranged weapons after the Letsz Waltz mission. You can also salvage arrows from bandit corpses around convoy missions in the open world if you don’t have the materials to craft.
