When can you expect the Elden Ring DLC release date to be? From Software announced the DLC some time ago and many fans have been wondering when they can get their hands on the upcoming expansion. Despite the long wait, many Tarnished have still traversed the Lands Between, defeating the many bosses scattered about the various caves, mountains, and castles.

While you wait for the DLC to drop on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation, and PC, there are still plenty of items for you to find. For instance, you could always get Death’s Poker – a powerful weapon that could help carry you through the DLC. If anything, you should at least brush up on your boss-killing strategies by taking down Remembrance bosses like Malenia and Goddrick again.

There is much to expect in the upcoming DLC. Rumors have begun to fly about leaks of when the DLC could be released, though Bandai Namco have now silenced them as they release an official date. Since Elden Ring set a new standard for Dark Souls-style games, there is a lot riding on the DLC. Here is everything we know about the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC release date.

Elden Ring DLC release date revealed

There is no need to speculate or estimate any longer as the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC release date is now here for all to see. Head on over to the Steam store page and you’ll find that the launch day is listed as June 20th, 2024. So, not much longer until it is released. It will cost you $39.99 (so not free after all) and is already available to pre-purchase, which includes a couple of extra bonuses if you do so.

Previous rumors

Popular YouTuber ZioStorm posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC could be shown at the Game Awards and that the official release date will be February 5, 2024. That is nearing the anniversary of the initial release of the game, making it a plausible time for it to be released.

While it would be nice to confirm that the DLC will be released in February, there are no official sources that have confirmed the validity of this rumor. For now, this leak remains the best show that we have for a release date for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Hopefully, there will be an official announcement leading up to February.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree official announcement

An initial announcement by FromSoftware for the DLC was made on the official Elden Ring X (formerly Twitter) page in February 2023. This announcement revealed the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC with an official image.

Many have viewed this image in the Tweet and believe that the mysterious figure in the field is Miquella, Malenia’s twin brother who created the Haligtree. He appears to be riding Torrent and overlooking the Erdtree. This DLC could expand on the lore of the game and touch more on the history of Scarlet Rot, Miquella, the creation of the Haligtree, and Queen Marika.

Like DLCs for previous FromSoftware titles, (think about Ashes of Ariandel, the Old Hunters, and The Ringed City) many are expecting new weapons, new bosses, and more NPCs. There could even be additional PvP elements added like were added during the Colosseum update.
