Elden Ring Wretch class – items, weapons & everything you need to know
An in-depth look at Elden Ring's Wretch class, pros and cons, starting items and everything you might need to know.

The Wretch is a class you do not want to go close to until you are highly familiar with the game but it is the most malleable class in the game. Starting with zero armor and only a basic club as a weapon, if you want to craft a bespoke character throughout your time in Elden Ring, and already have a clue as to what you want to do and how to go about it it, the Wretch is the perfect jumping-off point for something truly unique to your own individual play style.
If you are a fan of the Dark Souls games and loved playing as a Deprived class character you are going to feel right at home here as it is pretty much the same thing. Starting at Level 1 (wow, this is going to hurt), all the other baseline stats are a 10, which means the potential is there to build something impressive and powerful, but the early game is certainly going to sting.
Running into a game of Elden Ring with the Wretch when you don’t know what you are doing is the short way to a Steam Refund in our opinion. Learn your trade, enjoy the game and come back with the Wretch as an alt when you are a little more experienced.

Elden Ring Wretch Info
- In a game that you just know is going to be hardcore, playing as a Wretch makes you hardcore too, so go tell your friends.
- Beyond weak and under-powered at first, if you can quickly establish yourself with armor and weapons you have the baseline stats to be able to handle yourself
- From there with those starting 10s across the board there are some really good options to take the Wretch in whatever direction takes your fancy.
