Elden Ring might be the most beginner-friendly FromSoftware game to date, but that by no means makes it forgiving. You’ll need as much power and preparation as possible to survive your journey through the Lands between. And in true FromSoft style, many crucial items and gameplay mechanics are initially locked off, hidden in plain sight. One such item is the Flask of Wondrous Physic.
Players that have combed the Limgrave region for its secrets may have already stumbled upon this helpful tool. But for the rest of you wanderers in the fog, we’ll walk you through how to find and use the Flask of Wondrous Physick in Elden Ring.
Elden Ring: How to find the Flask of Wondrous Physick
Tucked away in the North-East corner of Limgrave, is a semi-ruined structure called the Third Church of Marika. This site is important for the lore information that you can discover here, but chiefly for the item held within.
You can approach and walk into the Third Church of Marika from any angle, and unlock the Site of Grace inside. From there, walk up to the dry stone font and interact with it to receive the Flask of Wondrous Physick.
How does the Flask of Wondrous Physick work?
The Flask of Wondrous Physick allows you to combine Crystal Tears to create powerful Elixers in Elden Ring. Crystal Tears can be found throughout the Lands Between, at the base of minor erdtrees. In order to use the flask, rest at any site of grace and use the Mix Wondrous Physick menu option to mix Tears together. Depending on the Tears used, the Flask can be used as a powerful last-ditch dealing item, a buff at the start of a fight, and many more things besides. The possible combinations are plentiful.
On picking up the Flask of Wondrous Physick, you will also gain a Crimson Tear. This will provide a healing effect when mixed into the Flask.
What else is in the Third Church of Marika?
The Flask of Wondrous Physick isn’t the only thing to discover at the Third Church of Marika.
From the base of a statue of Queen Marika on the left side of the church, you can acquire a sacred tear that upgrades your regular flasks by one stage, making their effects permanently more potent.
Additionally, if you rest at the Site of Grace and summon Melina to talk, she will divulge some very interesting information on Marika and her lords.
