We are almost there kids. The Elden Ring release date is just around the corner and the good news is if you are planning to play it on Xbox, you can preload the game right now, as in stop reading this and get downloading. You might even want to uninstall Dark Souls 3 as you will no longer have a need for it soon.
As yet the PlayStation and PC version still have not gone live for pre-load but we are assuming this will be imminent with the Elden Ring release time growing ever closer.
How big is the Elden Ring download?
On Xbox Series X we are looking at a file size of around the 50GB marker for Elden Ring – 49.04GB to be exact. If you are only after the last-gen version it will cost you 30 of storage space as the file size is considerably smaller.
Elden Ring preload
If you have pre-ordered the game on Xbox you can now preload the game immediately ahead of the launch on the 25th of this month. We are still waiting for the PC and PS5 and PS4 versions to become available for pre-load.
There is no mention as yet of a Day One patch from Bandai Namco but we are assuming there will be one, but the size of that is as yet unconfirmed. Hopefully, it will not be too big so everybody can jump in as soon as the game unlocks.
What time will Elden Ring unlock?
We don’t have a confirmed time yet from Bandai Namco and will update this section as soon as that information is released.
