Danny Trejo, the hardest man in Hollywood and star of Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, and Spy Kids, is to play himself in Far Cry 6. He will appear with his trademark machete, Stranger Things, and Rambo, in a series of Crossover Missions that will be available as free post-launch DLC for the forthcoming openworld shooter.

The first Crossover Mission, ‘Danny & Dani vs. Everybody’, will be a single and multiplayer co-op mission, with players (as game protagonist Dani Rojas) fighting alongside an AI or player-controlled Danny Trejo.

Judging by the Far Cry 6 DLC trailer below, it would appear that Trejo, playing a Yaran street food vendor (he owns Trejo’s Tacos in real life), falls foul of the local trading standards authorities and enlists your help to put things right – using his famous blade and other forms of extreme weapon-based violence.

When will Danny Trejo appear in Far Cry 6 DLC?

Danny Trejo’s inspired Far Cry appearance will coincide with the December 2021 release of, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Remastered. The Danny Trejo Crossover Mission will be free, Blood Dragon Remastered will not – unless you have the Far Cry 6 Season Pass, of course.

Danny Trejo vs. game DLC

This won’t be the first time Danny Trejo will have appeared in post-launch DLC for a popular shooter. In 2010 he appeared as himself in the ‘Call of the Dead’ Zombies map, as part of the Escalation DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops. He’s also voiced characters in GTA: Vice City and Fallout: New Vegas.

Stranger Things, Rambo, and the Far Cry 6 Post-Launch Roadmap

Looking at Ubisoft’s post-launch roadmap for Far Cry 6, we can probably assume that Season 4 of Stranger Things will be available on Netflix earlier in 2022 rather than later. Otherwise it would be a pretty useless marketing exercise. As for the Rambo crossover, there has been some talk of a movie reboot featuring a young John Rambo during his Vietnam days, but if that was on the horizon we would surely have heard about it by now.
