In anticipation of FIFA 23, we take a look at who we think will be the best midfielders in the game.

We won’t be including wingers or wide midfielders in this list, they will be found elsewhere.

It’s incredibly important to have the best players in your midfield as it’s arguably the most important part of the team. They will be your first line of defence as teams break against you, while on the attack they’re also your primary chance creators as well.

Your midfield needs to be versatile and offer a range of different options to help both defensively and going forward.

On FIFA 22, Manchester City’s Belgian midfielder was the highest rated midfielder and one of the highest rated players in the whole game.

Let’s find out if we think he has done enough to remain in the top spot in FIFA 23, or if someone else has performed well enough to take his place.

Midfield Maestro’s

Once again De Bruyne will be head and shoulders above the rest of the midfielders in the game. He also boasts Five-star weak foot too. De Bruyne is incredibly well rounded and he can do it all, but his biggest skill is his ability to find a pass. His vision is incredible and he has the ability to back it up.

Three of the players on the list turned out for Bayern Munich last season. If you want a solid midfield to use in Kick-off during FIFA 23, then Bayern Munich are the team.

Thomas Müller, their talismanic ten, has been a consistent mainstay over the years and could potentially be a centre-forward in FIFA 23 as he is often deployed as a second striker.

The biggest stats reduction we will see from the top tier central midfielders looks to be N’Golo Kante after he has struggled for fitness over the last two seasons.

He will still remain one of the best players in the game and his body type will always make him a must have on Ultimate Team.
