Some of the highest rated players in the game play on the wing. For some teams, like Liverpool, their wingers are their main source of goals. For other sides, the wingers are mainly used to create goals for other players, but either way they’re crucial to how most teams play.

The best wingers are threats on goal, but also incredibly tricky to get the ball off of. They will turn your defenders inside out and be a constant threat throughout the game, with their pace and trickery.

In FIFA 23, the highest rated player in the game was Lionel Messi, who plays on the right-wing for PSG. 

It remains to be seen if he will remain the best player in the game in FIFA 23, or even the best winger in the game, but below here is who we think will be the best wingers going into FIFA 23:

3. Neymar Jr – Left-winger – 90 (-1)
4. Heung Min-Son – Left-winger – 90 (+1)

6. Raheem Sterling – Left-winger – 87 (-1)
7. Riyad Mahrez – Right-winger – 87 (+1)
8. Jadon Sancho – Right-winger – 86 (-1)

If our predictions are right, Messi will still be joint top going into FIFA 23, but we think it’s time FIFA will begin to recognise Salah’s quality. After Messi’s form last season it’s incredibly likely he will also suffer from a ratings reduction, meaning he and Salah will meet in the middle to be level. 

It does look as though, for the first time in a while, a striker will be the highest rated player in the game: Kylian Mbappé. 

New to the top ten will be Vinicius Jr. after his sensational season for Real Madrid last year. Prior to that season, he had always been an exciting player with a lot of potential, but he was lacking in consistency.

After last year he has now added consistency to his game, showing just how good he can be. He even scored the winner in the Champions League final to cap off an amazing season. 

These players will be some of the most valuable and dangerous going into FIFA 23’s Ultimate Team game mode. Most of the players in the above list, will be must haves for most people playing the game, especially Neymar Jr.
