Professional Manchester United and England football star, Mason Greenwood, is currently undergoing questioning regarding recent sexual assault claims. Both Manchester United and the GMPolice are aware of indecent images circulating online, with the club barring him from training or playing until further notice.
With the news breaking on the situation on Sunday, there has been a dramatic rise in FIFA 22 Mason Greenwood sales. Over the last few days, there have been very few purchases made on Mason Greenwood, with a total of 28 sales on the PC FUT servers through the 28/29 of January. However, with the news breaking, the amount of transactions has surged, with the player’s price rising due to the demand. To put it in perspective, there were roughly 300 sales, nearly a 1000% increase in sales compared to the earlier stats. In addition, the average price lay in the realms of 900 coins, but the recent inflation has seen it climb to a fairly consistent 1600. Some players have even batch purchased, with several sales happening simultaneously.
Over on the console side, there are that many sales on January 31st alone there is no data for earlier in the week. Clearly, there is a demand for the player, coinciding with the news on the star.
Back in September 2021, there was a similar phenomenon with Benjamin Mendy, who was later charged, and is currently pending trial pushed back till June. When the news of the charge broke, EA Sports suspended Mendy from appearing in packs and removing the player’s online assets. In addition, EA placed a price fix on the player to prevent trading regarding circumstances outside the video game. Cheers NME.
However, there appears to be no news on whether Mason Greenwood’s FIFA 22 existence will meet the same fate.
