FIFA 23 already has a surprising collaboration with Marvel that no one expected. Now, if rumours are to be believed, FIFA has teamed up with Apple TV to bring their popular show Ted Lasso to life in FIFA 23.

Ted Lasso follows an American sports coach, who has never managed football before, as he manages fictional team AFC Richmond. The show has proven incredibly popular over the years and a third season is expected in 2023.

So far everything is pointing towards the fictional football team and manager appearing. Rumours about their appearance have been swirling for quite some time, but in the last few weeks speculation has really begun to ramp up. There are already images of the club badge in the game doing the rounds on Twitter but it is still unknown if this is real.

Then, on the 20th of September, the official Ted Lasso Twitter account posted a picture of Jason Sudeikis – the actor who plays Lasso – having a 3D scan. In typical social media fashion, the official EA Sports FIFA account responded hinting at the characters inclusion.

Will Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond be playable?

It is unlikely that these players will feature in Ultimate Team, but they may be able to be included in Career Modes and other game modes if they’re in fact in the game.

One thing that is incredibly likely is being able to use Ted Lasso himself as a manager in Career Mode. FIFA 23 will let you take control of real managers for the first time and being able to control Ted Lasso would be a welcome addition for fans of the show.

We may know for certain very soon, once the Web App goes live on the 21st of September.
