The Final Fantasy 16 game launches in June and many fans are curious whether the game will be an exclusive. Knowing what platforms your favorite FF game is on will be a big factor in a world full of magic, combat, and plenty of cinematic cutscenes. So, follow this guide to learn if Final Fantasy 16 is exclusive.

Will Final Fantasy 16 be an exclusive?

Final Fantasy 16 will be a time exclusive for the PlayStation 5 in the latest installment of the Final Fantasy Square Enix franchise. Unfortunately, during this exclusivity window, many fans who own other consoles will have to wait an additional six-month period to learn what other platforms the game will release to.

During the reveal trailer Revenge, it stated the Final Fantasy 16 game will not be available on other platforms until December 31, 2023.

Why is Final Fantasy 16 a PlayStation 5 exclusive?

Through an interview with PlayStation Blog, producer Naoki Yoshida answered a few questions regarding the gameplay, protagonist, and world of Valisthea. During this interview, he stated, “We created these elements using the PS5 hardware this time,” including this story, battles, and game production.

Based on this, the Final Fantasy 16 game was made considering the performance of the PS5 and optimizing it for the best gaming experience.

What is Final Fantasy 16 about?

Final Fantasy 16 will tell the tale of Clive Rosfield, the First Shield of Rosaria, on his quest to protect his younger brother Joshua, the second son of the Archduke of Rosaria. In the land of Valisthea, many people have flocked to her Mothercrystals to take part in her blessings.

However, the aether that fuels the magicks is soon beginning to fade, causing a bit of a stir. As Clive begins his chapter, after not receiving the power of Phoenix’s flames, he soon learns the way of the blade to protect his younger brother. However, tragedy has struck at the hands of a mysterious dark Eikon, Ifrit, leading Clive down a dangerous road of revenge.
