When you first begin your long journey full of quests and exploration in Final Fantasy, there is one thing you must first do. That is to choose a Deity when you create your character. These Deities are known as The Twelve and are the pantheon of gods for Eorzea and will play an important part in the final battle. So, follow this guide to determine which patron Deity you should choose in Final Fantasy XIV.

Which patron Deity should you choose in Final Fantasy XIV?

There are several patron Deities to choose from in Final Fantasy XIV. During the Heavensward expansion, they would have provided you with slight bonuses depending on if you had selected the element of ice or the element of fire, as an example. However, now they are only part of the character creation process, and it will not matter which Deity you choose.

So we say choose whoever you’d like. Due to the myths of the realm, The Twelve Deities also represent a moon, month, and element of the Eorzean Calendar. They are listed below as follows:

  • Halone, The Fury (Ice) January
  • Menphina, the Lover (Ice) February
  • Thaliak, The Scholar (Water) March
  • Nymeia, The Spinner (Water) April
  • Llymlaen, The Navigator (Wind) May
  • Oschon, The Wanderer (Wind) June
  • Byregot, Th Builder (Lightning) July
  • Rhalgr, The Destroyer (Lightning August
  • Azeyma, The Warden (Fire) September
  • Nald’thal, The Traders (Fire) October
  • Nophica, The Matron (Earth) November
  • Althyk, The Keeper (Earth) December

During your character creation ceremony process, choosing a patron Deity was vital as it will affect your character’s elemental resistance during the initial expansion of A Realm Reborn. However, this content was removed from the game after the Stormblood expansion patch 4.2 was released.

So, if you would like your birthday to reflect the same way it would in the game, all you need to do is look for the corresponding month!
