For a game the size of Fortnite, you would maybe expect more issues and errors than it gets. Season 3 Chapter 1 has had a few problems here and there, even resulting in Epic temporarily turning off one of the new gameplay mechanics hours after launching it due to the strain it was placing on the server.

The lastest issue some players are finding, however – and at this stage, it seems limited to a number of Xbox gamers, it doesn’t seem to have rated its head on any other platform as fart as we can see.

While sporadic reports suggest that it is certainly not affecting everybody, the issues gamers seem to be facing range from lagging audio and stuttering audio, to no sound at all. These only seem to have arisen since the last update, so a lot of the traditional fixes – such as making sure the headphone cord is connected and you haven’t yanked it out accidentally in a frenzy probably won’t apply but it’s obviously worth checking anyway! You know how those big battles can be.

As we mentioned, not everybody seems to be having the issue and in much the same way the same fix doesn’t work for everybody, which to us, suggests, the issue is certainly not down to an individual’s Xbox.

And as much as we hate to say it, the best fix actually seems to be the tired old meme of “turning it on and off again”, or at the very least completely quit the game and reload. But we would suggest turning the Xbox on and off.

Epic has acknowledged that there could be an issue and tweeted that they are looking into it, so expect a patch or hotfix when they get to the bottom of what’s going on.

Hopefully, it will be something simple and can be sorted quickly, as although it is not a game-breaking bug it is quite annoying when you are trying to get into a game with your friends and they are waiting for you to reboot.
