Epic Games reveal sneak peek at new Fortnite Dinosaurs Chapter 3 additions

A Boba Fett news update from Epic Games simultaneously announced the imminent removal of Fett from the shop alongside a brand-new look at the upcoming Fortnite dinosaur.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted the new Fortnite dinosaur variant in the initial trailer and poster for Chapter 3, Season 1, but little mention has been made since. Now, it looks as though the dinos could be released into the wild soon, as Epic Games have released all-new footage of the purple beasts.

We have had Raptor dinosaurs in Fortnite since the Primal season, which chase you down once you’re in range and cause damage if they hit you. However, while there is little information about how players will interact with these new, larger dinosaurs, it seems from the first clips that they may be more passive.
In the season trailer, a dinosaur can be seen peacefully watching in the background while a player knocks down Timber Pines. This footage would suggest that the dinosaurs don’t attack the player, while some leakers have even suggested that the new dinosaur variant may even be rideable.
However, the latest clip – featuring Boba Fett – does show the dinosaur attacking. Since this isn’t actually gameplay footage, though, it is safe to assume that this may just be for effect.
Fortnite dinosaurs Chapter 3 release date
There is no official word on when the new Fortnite dinosaurs in Chapter 3 will be released into the Artemis map, but Fortnite leakers have been speculating for some time that both the dinos and weather changes will be brought into Fortnite in a large, mid-season update in January 2022.
Well-known Fortnite leaker Hypex even claims that a huge update will come to Fortnite on January 11th, 2022, which they have reason to believe will include tornadoes and lightning. As there has been as minimal official word from Epic Games on the weather changes, including the dinosaurs – until this Boba Fett clip – it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the dinosaurs added in update 19.10 as well.
Again, remember this is still just speculation, so we may have to wait a bit longer to see the adorable purple creatures in-game. In the meantime, don’t forget to make the most of the Power Leveling event between January 7th and January 10th by completing challenges like “knock down Timber Pines” and “hide in tall grass” missions.
