Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1: Flipped is here, bringing with it a new Battle Pass, new weapons and a brand new map. Fortnite Chapter 3’s new map sees the return of the snow and desert biomes, although they’ve largely taken on new forms and are in new locations, so it’s more of a spiritual successor thing than a full on return.

So is Paradise Palms back in Fortnite?

No, Paradise Palms isn’t back. You can however find new named locations called Rocky Reels, Chonker’s Speedway and Condo Canyon. Of the three, Condo Canyon is most like Paradise Palms, but it’s not a 1-to-1 match. There’s nothing to say that the area won’t return in the future however, as areas that have left the game have come back in the past.

What was Paradise Palms in Fortnite?

Paradise Palms Fortnite 2

Paradise Palms was a desert city first introduced to the game all the way back in Chapter 1, Season 5. It replaced Moisty Mire and The Prison, and was directly to the south of the now-gone Retail Row. There was a hotel building, a pool, several homes and other retail locations.

Eventually, the area was fused with the Moisty Mire by a rift in space and time, creating a new area called Moisty Palms. That was destroyed when the island was swallowed up by a black hole. In Chapter 2 there was an area called Sweaty Sands, which Loopers largely regarded as a spiritual successor to the Paradise Palms Fortnite location.

What do you think of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 so far? Are there any areas from old maps you’d like to see return in the newest season? Does the desert remind you of Roadrunner cartoons too? Let us know in the comments section below.
