It’s been rumored for some time that Tilted Towers would be returning to the Fortnite map, and with other classic locations already back for Chapter 3, it’s little surprise that the clock tower returns with Fortnite update 19.10.

Epic Games teased the new map update with a cryptic tweet on January 17th, 2022, simply saying “One more sleep” followed by a city emoji. With players already speculating that Tilted Towers was set to return with the Flipped island map, both fans and leakers were sent into a frenzy.

What is Tilted Towers?

Tilted Towers is a well-known point of interest from the second ever season of Fortnite. The popular village has played a huge part in Fortnite lore until now thanks to its popularity with fans.

Since Chapter 1, Season 2, Tilted Towers has become infamous for being a popular location for Loopers to drop in, meaning that it was always one of the hardest places to stay alive due to the sheer number of players there at one time. New players often purposely avoid the area, knowing that there will always be more experienced players there. This has led to Tilted Towers and its instantly recognisable clock tower being highly memeable, and is undeniably one of most players’ top locations, both for gameplay and nostalgia./

Following its popularity at its inception, Tilted Towers has been pivotal to Fortnite’s ever-changing storyline. In Season 4, it was hit by a massive crater that fell upon the island, and was largely destroyed. It stayed on the map, and Loopers instead fought in the dark and dusty remains of the iconic location. From there, it was rebuilt and turned into a new shop, before being destroyed once again by Kevin the Cube.

Tilted Towers continued to be rebuilt and destroyed – by The Earthquake and a volcano – during Chapter 1, before being brought back as Neo Tilted in the futuristic Chapter 1, Season 9. Continuing to change frequently through Chapter 1, Neo Tilted later went back the other way and became Tilted Town, a wild-west styled version of the location, before being replaced by Gotham City in the game’s first Batman crossover in Chapter 1, Season X.

Tilted Towers returned in Chapter 2, being combined with Salty Springs to form Salty Towers, a sand-covered town combining both locations’ buildings. It was finally removed during Chapter 2, and has been gone for almost a year.

Where is Tilted Towers?

Tilted Towers is located pretty much right in the centre of the new map in Chapter 3. Already, as expected, many Loopers are dropping straight into the classic town, so be aware you’ll have a fight on your hands if you decide to take a walk down memory lane.
