We all have a favorite mode in Call of Duty. Some people like Ranked, others like big warzone battles, and others like different objectives. Activision understands this but feels the need to limit some game modes so players don’t get tired of them.

Some players are tired of this, however, and have decided to voice their frustration.

Plunder removed from Call of Duty Season 3 Reloaded

After starting the new reloaded update in Season 3 of MW2, Reddit user Jakesnakeguy1998 realized that their favorite mode, Plunder, was removed. They took to Reddit to vent their annoyance, but it turned out they weren’t alone.

Multiple users are tired of this beloved game mode only being around for weeks at a time. The game mode itself isn’t particularly fun to many of the users, but instead the casual feel of it. Many players hate skill based matchmaking (SBMM), but it appears that Jakesnakeguy1998 believes that this is something that should be optional.

Plunder is a mode where you can play without worrying about other players being too difficult, multiple lives are given, and you just have fun.

This allows for a more relaxed environment, as opposed to the competitive modes which require a lot of skill and practice. This provides a welcome break from the usual intense, and often stressful, matches. It also allows less experienced players to enjoy the game without the pressure of competition.

However, it’s hard for Activision to keep up with this kind of thing. If they lose more players from Warzone or the Multiplayer, then it will take longer for queues to fill up. This was pointed out in other comments, “Yeah but then people would be moaning about 5+ min queue times lol”

It’s hard to know what the best decision is, but if enough people get vocal, we may see a return of Plunder.
