The 2.1 update is currently live in Genshin Impact but players are already anticipating what we might see in the 2.2 update. What we do know are that the beta testers are lucky enough to the secrets of the next Genshin Impact update, so naturally some of these secrets have been leaked or datamined.
Considering these are leaks and only speculative, we can’t confirm anything just yet until the official release. Nonetheless, we can still explore what has been leaked or datamined and see what we might be in for!
When is the Genshin Impact 2.2 Update Release Date
As with most of Genshin Impact’s updates, the six week release schedule would place the next update on the 13th of October 2021.
New Character – Thoma
It’s expected that we’ll see a new character, and people assume this new character will be Thoma. A 4-star character from Inazuma, Thoma is a handsome young man with blond hair and a splendidly gaudy red and gold coat.
Thoma‘s constellation is Rubeum Scutum and he has his affiliation towards the Kamisato Clan. He’s expected to be a powerful Pyro Polearm character with a powerful Elemental Burst. Defense isn’t off the table either with Thoma, he’ll be able to provide great shields whilst inflicting Pyro damage on enemies.
Genshin Impact 2.2 Banners
We’ve also been hearing rumours that there will be a banner rerun in the Genshin Impact 2.2 update. Dataminers are assuming that Hu Tao or Childe will be getting Banner reruns. Despite fans wanting a Ganyu rerun, but then again, it’s still early days and miHoYO might have more up their sleeves.
