Genshin Impact’s fishing mechanic is one of the most popular features that launched in 2.1. With many players out there and fishing away, many wonder what the Genshin Impact fishing respawn time is. The good news is that it is not very long.
There are two common theories about how the Genshin Impact fish respawn times work. Some people on the internet claim skipping three days ahead seems to work. On the other hand, some players out there say a 24 hour in-game wait time also works. The developers have not explained the respawn time, but it seems like a 24 hour respawn is becoming the common theory.

You may have noticed that Teyvat’s time cycle mirror earth’s time on a scale. Every minute that passes in real life equals one hour in-game. This is important because fishing spots can have a day and night time cycle. Some fish only appear at night, meaning that those pools that spawn nighttime fish may have two respawn cycles. In theory, it means that the pools technically have a respawn period of 12 hours in-game, but that requires further testing.
Since there are two different loot tables on some fishing spots, the Genshin Impact fish respawn time could be 24 hours. It makes sense considering that if you fish a pool up, you may have to wait a full day for the loot table to reset each morning and night fishing spot.
This is the best theory we have on how the Genshin Impact fish respawn times work. Some players find that the three-day wait time works for some and not others, while others say the same for one-day respawns. The discrepancies between the reported respawn times can be due to specific fishing spots, locations, fish, startled, and other contributing factors. There are clearly some rules going on that we haven’t quite figured out yet.
