Bennett is a 4-star Pyro Sword character who specialises as a Support, and is available on the Character Event Wish, Epitome Invocation and Wanderlust Invocation Standard Banners. Keep reading to find out what materials are needed to Ascend Bennett, his best builds and an overview of how to use him effectively.

Bennett Ascension Stat

All characters in Genshin Impact have a particular stat that levels up alongside their base stats. For Bennett, this extra stat is Energy Recharge. This will help him charge his Burst up faster, which is highly useful to his skillset!

Bennett Best Weapons

Bennett has quite a few weapons he can use, meaning he’s very accessible to build even for low-spending and F2P players:

WeaponRarity
Aquila Favonia5-star
Mistsplitter Reforged5-star
Skyward Blade5-star
Festering Desire4-star
Favonius Sword4-star
The Alley Flash4-star
Prototype Rancour4-star
The Black Sword4-star
Genshin Impact Bennett Weapon

Bennett’s best in slot is debatable, since there are two routes you can go down: give him the highest Base ATK possible, or give him Energy Recharge for his Burst. Ideally, you should go down the Base ATK route; this is because Bennett’s Burst’s buff scales off his Base ATK, which includes the Base ATK of his equipped weapon. However, Energy Recharge will be desirable if your Artifacts are lacking in ER. That being said, for high Base ATK your best in slot is Aquila Favonia or Mistsplitter Reforged. Both these weapons have the highest Base ATK of any sword in the game, a whopping 674. Neither Sword’s passive is particularly beneficial to him, but this isn’t really an issue since you’re really only using these Swords for their Base ATK.

There are also some 4-star Swords which he can use, thanks to their high Base ATK. Prototype Rancour has the highest amount of Base ATK of all the 4-star Swords, and The Alley Flash has the second highest Base ATK. Prototype Rancour is likely your main choice, though, since it’s given to all players early on in the game  and is craftable on top of that, so it’s easy to get ahold of – as well as having the higher Base ATK of the two. The Black Sword also has a relatively high Base ATK, and the added CRIT Rate will give your Bennett some added DMG potential.

If your Bennett is in need of Energy Recharge, your best in slot is the Skyward Blade. It has a very high amount of Energy Recharge as its second stat, and since its a 5-star weapon, it also has a high amount of Base ATK. If you have it, Festering Desire is also very good on him, although for most players, the Favonius Sword is your best 4-star choice.

Bennett Best Artifacts

Bennet generally only has one Artifact set that you want to use on him: 4-Piece Noblesse Oblige. While the increased Burst DMG isn’t too special on him, the 4-Piece set is why you’re using this set on hims why you’re using this set on him. This is because on top of the buff his Burst already bestows, 4-Piece Noblesse Oblige will give another buff upon using Bennett’s Burst. This turns Bennett into a buffing machine.

Genshin Impact Bennett Artifacts

For low-level players, 4-Piece Instructor works well until you’re able to get higher level Artifacts.

For your Artifact main stats, you will want to run:

ArtifactMain Stat
SandsHP% / Energy Recharge
GobletHP%
CircletHealing Bonus

The main stats you choose will largely depend on what you need on Bennett. Ideally, he should have between 180 – 220 Energy Recharge to use his Burst on cooldown. So if you have his ER in that range, you should prioritise an HP% Sands on him to maximise his healing. In terms of Artifact substats, you’ll want to focus on HP%, Energy Recharge, Elemental Mastery and both CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate.

How to use Bennett

His Elemental Skill, Passion Overload, imbues Bennett’s sword with Pyro with varying results. On press, Bennett performs a single, swift flame strike that deals Pyro DMG. On hold, the Skill charges up which results I’m different effects when unleashed based on the Charge Level. At Level 1, he strikes twice, dealing Pyro DMG and launching enemies. At Level 2, he unleashes 3 consecutive attacks that deal Pyro DMG, and the last attack triggers an explosion that launches both Bennett and the enemy. Bennett takes no damage from being launched.

His Elemental Burst, Fantastic Voyage, deals Pyro DMG and creates an Inspiration Field. If the health of a character inside the AoE of the Inspiration Field is equal to or falls below 70%, their health will continuously regenerate. Regeneration scales based on Bennett’s Max HP. If the health of a character within the AoE is higher than 70%, they gain an ATK bonus that is based on Bennett’s Max ATK. The Inspiration Field also applies the Pyro element to characters within the field.

One thing you should bear in mind is Bennett’s sixth constellation, Fire Ventures with Me. This is because upon activating this, Sword, Claymore or Polearm-wielding characters inside Fantastic Voyage’s radius gain a 15% Pyro DMG Bonus, and their Normal and Charged Attacks are imbued with Pyro. This is potentially problematic depending on if you tend to use Physical Attacks or not. For example, if one of your best DPS characters is Eula and you use her regularly, you may not want to activate Bennett’s C6 if you get it. However, if you tend to use other DPS characters who deal the bulk of their DMG as Elemental DMG, this won’t affect them.

Best Team Comps

That being said, Bennett is largely thought of as the best support in the game, thanks to his massive buffing capabilities, fulfilling a basic healing role and his ability to activate Pyro Resonance. His healing, while not on-par with dedicated healers such as Kokomi or Barbara, is often enough to tide over your team. Since Bennett is a Jack-of-all-trades, he’s an incredibly useful unit and can fit onto almost any team comp. There are a few teams that don’t want Bennett, such as Freeze and Taser (Electro-Charged) teams, since Bennett’s Pyro infliction will mess up your reactions. However, generally you’ll be able to use him in your team comps.

For example, he can work great on nuke teams featuring characters such as Tartaglia or Hu Tao, who are able to deal massive amounts of DMG with their Bursts. All you need to do is use his Burst before switching to your Main DPS, who will then be able to deal huge amounts of DMG. Bennett’s also featured on the “National” and “International” team comps, where he acts as a buffer and healer. He can also work very nicely on Geo teams which centre around Gorou and two other Geo units, as Bennett will be able to buff the team even more as well as provide basic healing.

Overall, Bennett is absolutely one of the best supports in the game, and since he has a lot of utility, he can fit on almost any team comp. On top of that, since he’s a 4-star character he is relatively easy to get ahold on.
