The Oceanid, also known as Rhodeia of Loch, is one of Genshin Impact’s Normal Bosses. It’s the only Boss that drops the Cleansing Heart Character Ascension Material. So if you have Hydro characters that need Ascending, you might need a Cleansing Heart or two for them. Here’s everything you need to know about the Oceanid’s attacks, weaknesses and how to beat it.

Oceanid’s Attacks and Weaknesses

The Oceanid summons different Hydro animals that must be fought and defeated. There are 8 different types of mimics in total that can be spawned by Oceanid. Each type has a decreased resistance to certain elements, apart from Hydro, which they are completely immune to.

Hydro Mimic Crane — Cranes that attack the player from afar, flapping their wings to create powerful Hydro waves. If approached, they may scatter. They take 41.2% more DMG from Electro attacks.

Hydro Mimic Raptor — Flying creatures who swoop down on the player to attack. They take 41.2% more DMG from Electro attacks.

Hydro Mimic Mallard — Ducks with a Hydro vortex underneath them that deals rapid Hydro DMG to players inside them. They take 41.2% more DMG from Cryo attacks.

Hydro Mimic Crab — Crabs that scuttle around the player, spewing bubbles from their claws that deal weak but rapid Hydro DMG. They occasionally stop to rest before moving on. They take 41.2% more DMG from Cryo attacks.

Hydro Mimic Boar — Charges at the player. They take 41.2% more DMG from Pyro attacks.

Hydro Mimic Ferret — Performs rapid swipes against the player. They take 41.2% more DMG from Pyro attacks.

Hydro Mimic Frog — Jump and plunge at the player or shoot ranged waves. They take 41.2% more DMG from Geo attacks.

Hydro Mimic Finch — Primarily attacks by jumping and plunging at the player. They take 41.2% more DMG from Geo attacks.

How to Defeat the Oceanid

Based on the information above, you should bring a mixture of Cryo, Pyro, Electro and / or Geo characters. This will ensure that you’re able to deal high DMG to the mimics. Since the mimics are made of Hydro, Freezing them with Cryo is a particularly good strategy, even if Cryo isn’t the Element they are especially weak to. Furthermore, some of the mimics will unleash a Hydro shockwave once defeated, which is difficult to avoid. Therefore, having a shield character is also very beneficial. Zhongli and Diona are both good choices here.
