With the Genshin Impact 2.7 beta rounding up, Genshin leakers have been hard at work informing fans of the game about what’s coming next. The newest 4-star character, Shinobu, has appeared in plenty of leaked content, which comes straight from reliable leakers dimbreath and UBatcha from the Wengsheng Funeral Parlour Discord Server, and compiled on Honey Impact.

So, what do Shinobu’s leaks tell us about how she plays? And does she have much utility?

Shinobu’s Attacks

Shinobu’s Kit Breakdown

So, from these Shinobu leaks, how can we expect her to play? Well, she’s a healer whose healing scales off her Max HP and comes from her Skill. Her Skill has an activation at the cost of Shinobu’s own HP, and her healing only applies to the active character – much like Barbara’s Skill when she isn’t auto attacking. Her Burst’s DMG also scales off her Max HP, and lingers for a little while in an AoE. Shinobu’s Passive Talents are also quite significant to her kit, increasing her healing when she is below 50% HP and additionally scaling off 75% of her Elemental Mastery. The split here between balancing her HP and Elemental Mastery could make her a little finicky to build.

From a meta perspective, Shinobu doesn’t seem to be a significant addition. The DMG from her Skill and Burst’s Electro application doesn’t appear to be on par with characters like Beidou or Fischl, who are also 4-stars. Her healing output is also a little underwhelming, andconsidering she only heals one character at a time, it’s unlikely she’ll be a viable designated healer – especially when your team is suffering from Corrosion. She could have some usage with healing during Diona or Bennett’s Burst downtimes if you’re struggling with Corrosion, but having two healers on one team will tank the team’s DPS significantly.

On the plus side, she appears to be a solid 4-Piece Tenacity of the Millelith user, which could be beneficial in certain circumstances. For instance, she could work on a Eula team and proc Superconduct with her, buffing her with TotM and providing her with basic heals. But if you have them, it seems that Beidou and Fischl will generally outperform Shinobu’s Electro DMG. However, if you’re not too bothered about the meta or just like using characters because they look cool, Shinobu seems like she’ll be OK overall, if not a little niche.
