Tsurumi Island is one of the six islands of Inazuma in Genshin Impact. After a bit of exploring, you’ll notice that there are areas of the island that are covered in a dense fog. This fog will expel the player and teleport them to a nearby Waypoint if they do not get through in time. This can make exploring these areas a little tricky. Keep reading to find out how to traverse the sea of fog on Tsurumi Island.

How to activate Stormstones

In the foggy areas of Tsurumi Island you will find Stormstones. These are ritual stone piles set up by the Tsurumi Island civilization. You can activate them with Electro, and when you do, they prevent you from getting lost in the fog. That is, as long as you are near one of them. You should make a habit of lighting up every Stormstone you come across to make exploring these areas smoother. Characters such as Lisa or Fischl can quickly and easily apply Electro to these Stormstones, so be sure to put one of them in your party (or a similar character) before venturing through the fog.

How to permanently remove the fog on Tsurumi Island

While you can clear the fog and mist temporarily by completing the ‘A Particularly Particular Author’ quest, if you’re finding the whole Stormstone activation-thing a little tedious, you can actually permanently remove the fog on Tsurumi Island. To clear the fog permanently you have to complete the whole ‘Through the Mists’ quest series, which ‘A Particularly Particular Author’ was the start of. These quests are time-locked, meaning you will have to wait until the next real-life day to complete the next quest in the series.

So, after you’ve completed ‘A Particularly Particular Author,’ you’ll have to wait until the next day to unlock ‘Octave of the Maushiro.’ Sumida in Inazuma City will prompt you to return to Tsurumi Island. You’ll have to cross the gate again to clear some of the fog. After completing the puzzles there, you’ll then have to complete ‘The Sea of Fog and the Rite of the Trees’ the following day. Once again, you’ll have to destroy the Perches on the island. Finally, you’ll have to complete ‘The Sun-Wheel and Mt. Kanna,’ in which you’ll have to take on the Thunder Manifestation boss.

After this, Tsurumi Island will become permanently fog-free, and you’ll be able to explore them to your heart’s content. Happy exploring!
