Xinyan has quite a few different weapons she can use, depending on what kind of build you’re doing. Here are some suggestions:

Genshin Impact Xinyan Weapon

For an all-rounder Physical Main DPS build, Xinyan has a tonne of good weapons at her disposal: Song of Broken Pines is an amazing choice, thanks to its very high Base ATK stat, as well as a very nice passive which will grant her increased ATK SPD and ATK%. Redhorn Stonethresher is also a good choice, since it has such a high CRIT DMG substat. Wolf’s Gravestone is always a good choice too, since it will give you a huge amount of ATK overall. The Unforged is also completely viable on Xinyan, since she does have some shielding capabilities; this means you’ll be able to get the most out of this weapon’s passive. Serpent Spine and Blackcliff Slasher have CRIT Rate and DMG substats respectively, which are both great. For F2P players, Prototype Archaic is a solid choice and will give Xinyan plenty of ATK.

If you want your Xinyan to focus purely on swapping in and using her Elemental Burst, Skyward Pride is a very good choice. Its Energy Recharge substat will help her charge her Burst up quicker, and it has a good amount of Base ATK, too. The F2P Luxurious Sea-Lord will increase her Elemental Burst DMG, and also deal additional DMG along with her Burst. Akuoumaru is also viable, since it increases Elemental Burst DMG and has a hefty ATK% substat.

For a purely Shield / Physical Support build, the Sacrificial Greatsword or Favonius Greatsword are good choices. Sacrificial Greatsword, at max Refinement, will grant an 80% chance to end Xinyan’s Skill’s CD; this is great for getting her shield back up in case it breaks early. At max Refinement, Favonius Greatsword has a 100% chance to generate a small amount of Energy Particles upon landing a CRIT hit, which means Xinyan can help battery your Main DPS. Alternatively, you could use Whiteblind on her, which is F2P-friendly and has a high DEF% substat, which is perfect for Xinyan’s shields – since they scale off her DEF.

Xinyan Best Artifacts

When fulfilling either a Main or Burst DPS role, Xinyan can really benefit from 2-Piece Bloodstained Chivalry with 2-Piece Pale Flame. This combo will give her a total 50% Physical DMG Bonus, which is huge and will increase her DMG greatly.

For a Support Xinyan, you have a few more options. 4-Piece Tenacity of the Millelith will increase her shield strength and buff your party when her Skill hits opponents. You could also try her with 4-Piece Noblesse Oblige, which will buff your team’s ATK by 20% when she uses her Burst.

For low-level players, 4-Piece Martial Artist or 2-Piece Defender’s Will and 2-Piece The Exile work well until you’re able to get higher level Artifacts.

Genshin Impact Xinyan Artifacts

For your Artifact main stats, you will want to run:

Physical Main / Burst DPS:

ArtifactMain Stat
SandsATK%
GobletPhysical DMG Bonus
CircletCRIT DMG / Rate

Shield / Physical Support:

ArtifactMain Stat
SandsDEF%
GobletDEF%
CircletDEF%

For a DPS build, in terms of Artifact substats, you’ll want to focus on ATK%, Energy Recharge, and both CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate. For a Support Build, you’ll want to focus on DEF%, Flat DEF, Energy Recharge and CRIT Rate if you’re using the Favonius Greatsword.

How to use Xinyan

Her Elemental Skill, Sweeping Fervor, deals Pyro DMG to nearby opponents, and forms a shield. The shield’s DMG Absorption scales based in Xinyan’s DEF and on the number of opponents hit. The more opponents you hit, the higher the shield’s level. When you hit 3 opponents, the Shield Level 3 will also deal intermittent Pyro DMG to nearby opponents. The shield will infuse Xinyan with Pyro, and it has a 250% DMG Absorption effectiveness against Pyro DMG.

Her Burst, Riff Revolution, deals Physical DMG to nearby opponents. It also causes explosions that deal Pyro DMG to nearby opponents.

Best Team Comps

While Xinyan isn’t the most meta Physical DPS around, she can be viable with enough investment. Your team comp is also important; you’ll need both a Cryo and Electro Sub DPS / Support that can inflict both elements on your opponents to create Superconduct reactions, which decreases your opponent’s Physical RES by 40%. For Cryo, Rosaria and Kaeya are both good choices, whereas Fischl, the Raiden Shogun, Yae Miko, Beidou and Lisa are great at applying Electro. Your final slot in this team will likely be Bennett (as long as he isn’t C6) or a healer. Before you start auto-attacking with Xinyan, you’ll want to trigger Superconduct on your opponents, followed by Bennett’s Burst (if he’s on your team,) and use Xinyan’s Skill before using her Normal Attacks or Burst. You ideally want her shield up, since her Talent …Now that’s Rock ‘N’ Roll! will allow her to deal 15% increased Physical DMG while shielded by her Skill. Her C4 will also allow her Skill’s swing DMG to decrease opponent’s Physical RES by 15%, so the combination of these will give Xinyan a higher DMG output. If you don’t want to use her Normal Attacks, you can just switch her in as a Burst DPS on a similar team comp.

Alternatively, the reason Xinyan is able to act as a Physical Support is due to her Talent …Now that’s Rock ‘N’ Roll! as well as her C4, as mentioned above. This combination will allow her to buff your Physical Main DPS, such as Eula, whilst also keeping them relatively safe behind a shield.
