Yanfei Best Weapons

Yanfei has lots of great weapons she can use, which makes her very accessible to build. Here are some suggestions:

WeaponRarity
Lost Prayer To The Sacred Winds5-star
Skyward Atlas5-star
Memory of Dust5-star
The Widsith4-star
Solar Pearl4-star
Dodoco Tales4-star
Mappa Mare4-star
Genshin Impact Yanfei Weapon

One of Yanfei’s best weapons is Lost Prayer To The Sacred Winds. This weapon gives her a respectable 33.1% CRIT Rate at Level 90, and its passive will increase her Elemental DMG the longer she’s on-field, which is how she tends to be played. Alternatively, Yanfei can use Skyward Atlas thanks to the high amount of ATK it bestows, both with its Base Attack and ATK% substat. If you run Yanfei with a shielder, she can use Memory of Dust quite well since it gives a tonne of ATK overall, and it also synergises with her C4 if you don’t have a shielder.

In terms of 4-star weapons, Yanfei has a few good options. If she’s in need of CRIT DMG or Rate, The Widsith or Solar Pearl are both solid choices and will increase her DPS. Yanfei can also make use of two F2P weapons, Dodoco Tales and Mappa Mare. Dodoco Tales’s passive fits Yanfei’s playstyle of using a combination of Normal and Charged Attacks, and it also features plenty of ATK. Mappa Mare can also be nice on Yanfei, since its passive will increase her Elemental DMG upon triggering an Elemental Reaction, although the Elemental Mastery substat isn’t the most optimal compared to CRIT stats or ATK%. That being said, it can work well if you use Yanfei on a consistent Reaction team.

Yanfei Best Artifacts

Yanfei has a couple different sets she can use. Either you could use 4-Piece Crimson Witch to increase the DMG of her Reactions, or you could use 4-Piece Wanderer’s Troupe to increase the DMG of her Charged Attacks. The 4-Piece CWOF set is usually preferred when you know you’ll be performing Reactions consistently, so for example, on a team with Xingqiu. Wanderer’s Troupe, on the other hand, is a very good general option if you have a solid set. This set also won’t neglect her Reactions entirely, since the Elemental Mastery it gives will help increase the DMG of her Reactions – just not as much as the CWOF set.

For low-level players, 4-Piece Martial Artist works well until you’re able to get higher level Artifacts.

Genshin Impact Yanfei Artifacts

For your Artifact main stats, you will want to run:

ArtifactMain Stat
SandsATK%
GobletPyro DMG Bonus
CircetCRIT DMG / Rate

In terms of Artifact substats, you’ll want to focus on ATK%, Energy Recharge, Elemental Mastery and both CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate

How to use Yanfei

Yanfei has a unique mechanic involving her Normal and Charged Attacks. When Yanfei’s Normal Attacks hit enemies, they will grant her a single Scarlet Seal. Yanfei may possess a maximum of 3 Scarlet Seals, and each time this is triggered, the duration of currently possessed Scarlet Seals will refresh. Each Scarlet Seal will decrease Yanfei’s Stamina consumption and will disappear when she leaves the field. Her Charged Attacks will deal increased AoE DMG according to the amount of Scarlet Seals consumed.

Her Elemental Skill, Signed Edict, summons blistering flames that deal AoE Pyro DMG. Opponents hit by the flames will grant Yanfei the maximum number of Scarlet Seals.

Her Elemental Burst, Done Deal, triggers a spray of intense flames that rush at nearby opponents, dealing AoE Pyro DMG and granting Yanfei the maximum number of Scarlet Seals, applying Brilliance to her. Brilliance grants Yanfei a Scarlet Seal at fixed intervals, and increases the DMG dealt by her Charged Attacks. The effects of Brilliance will end if Yanfei leaves the field or falls in battle.

Yanfei is quite straightforward to play: you use three Normal Attacks, then follow up with a strong Charged Attack which consumes the maximum amount of Scarlet Seals. Her Skill and Burst both act as quick ways of regenerating the max amount of Scarlet Seals, as well as dealing some decent DMG. Since Yanfei has such quick Pyro application, she can easily proc Melt, Vaporize and Overloaded Reactions. For this reason, a very good team for Yanfei consists of herself, Xingqiu, Bennett and an Anemo Support with 4-Piece VV, such as Sucrose, Kazuha or Venti. Xingqiu will be able to apply Hydro to enemies for Vaporize, Bennett will buff and heal the team, and your Anemo support will shred your opponents’ Elemental RES as well as help with crowd control.

Alternatively, you could replace the Anemo Support with a shielder if you feel you need one, with Zhongli and Diona being your best options. If you don’t want to use Xingqiu, you can also use characters like Beidou or Rosaria, who have off-field Element application.
