Some PlayStation 4 and 5 players might have encountered an error upon login, one that says: ‘Third party account not yet registered.’
Naturally, you might have a few sudden fears! Has your account been hacked, has it been deleted, have you been banned? Short answer, no. So don’t worry if you encounter this message, it’s a common problem across PlayStation players.
How to fix the ‘Genshin third party account not yet registered’ error
The official Genshin Impact twitter account has come out and explained that the problem lies within Sony’s servers and the PSN. As this was announced on their Japanese account, here’s a translation of their official statement.
“Currently, due to a failure of the PSN, we’ve confirmed that some players cannot log in to the PlayStation version of Genshin Impact. We apologize for the inconvenience, and ask for your patience until the issue is solved”
Basically, what this statement gets around to is, you’ll just have to wait. Obviously, this might not be all that helpful, and you might have to wait a few more minutes at best, or an hour or more at worst.
I realise this might not be the most useful help, but hopefully Sony will be working on fixing this issue on their end. So maybe, in the meantime, while you wait for the servers to allow you back in, you can check out some more of our Genshin Impact content:
