Ghostwire Tokyo has many different tools to experience the game’s combat through. There is a bow, spells from your fingertips, and another inventory feature called Talismans. Talismans are items you will gradually unlock after taking over Torii gates and completing other main story quests in the game. We will go through what you should expect from the Talismans in Ghostwire Tokyo and how to use them in certain situations best.

Ghostwire Tokyo Talismans Guide

There are four Talismans you will get in Ghostwire Tokyo, which you first unlock during the Maze for Death quest. These are:

  • Stun – Stuns all targets in the area
  • Exposure – increases the exposure of enemy cores
  • Decoy – pings a noise at the target location, alerting enemies to that spot
  • Thicket – place a bush that you can hide in to end a chase or to sneak past enemies.

Stun is the first one you get at the Shrine during the Maze of Death quest in Chapter 2. As you play more of the game, you naturally unlock more of these Talismans, which you will have the full arsenal of by the time you reach the first major boss in the game.

There are some really good tips that you can use these talismans with too. For example, suppose you wanted to clump enemies together. In that case, you could use the Decoy Talisman, get enemies together, then use the stun or the exposure talisman to then reap havoc on enemies.

You will want to use the Stun talisman if there are any higher level enemies in the group, such as the Rage Walker or the Lamentation. If it’s easy to fight Rain Walkers of schoolboy and girl type enemies, you can use Exposure to drag their ghostly cores from their haunting aesthetics in one sweep of your hands. Also, we recommend grabbing the perk that allows you to attack cores of downed enemies. It allows you to use the stun talisman on the elite monsters allowing you to grab their cores in melee range, then downing such dangerous foes is much easier.

Also, you can get beads that upgrade the powers of your Talismans from the Momokane Building Rooftop Torii Gate. However, it is not entirely necessary. You can also upgrade your talisman ammo capacity in the skill tree. You can then buy more ammo from the cat storekeepers throughout the open world.
