To check if the game is available, check your PS4/5 dashboard. If you’ve already purchased the game, it should appear in your library and will download the game if you try to activate it before release.
If you’ve not bought the game yet, you should get the option to preload it as soon as you finish your purchase. Just remember, you won’t be able to play until Sony releases the game in your time zone, which should be happening at midnight on 9 November.
How Big Is God of War Ragnarok?
If you want to play the game on launch day, you’ll definitely need to preload it. Overall, the digital edition of God of War Ragnarok clocks in at over 84 GB on PS5, and that’s a decent chunk of space, even for a modern game.
On most internet connections, that’s going to take at least a few hours to download, possibly even longer. Your safest bet is to get it out of the way before you can even enjoy the game.
We’ve listed the sizes of various versions of the game below to help you out. Right now, we’ve mostly just got information on the digital editions, but we’ll update once we know more about the physical copies:
- PS5 Digital – 84.15 GB
- PS4 Digital – 90.6 GB
There is likely to be a day one patch close to the game’s launch, which could have a big impact on how much space it takes up. Unfortunately, you can’t preload a day one patch to save yourself the hassle.
