Forcing the company to quietly announce the game in a semi-official/unofficial capacity. That’s where Rockstar’s misfortune turns into our fortune. We don’t condone the actions of the hackers that leaked GTA 6’s info, but we sure are excited at what we have seen so far.
Here’s everything we know so far about GTA 6, including its release date, map, characters, and any other little bits of information we can dig up. Bear in mind, everything displayed here will be a leak, there’s no guarantee that what we are reporting is true, and everything is subject to change.

GTA 6 release window prediction
Here is the GTA 6 predicted release date: As far as a release date for Grand Theft Auto 6 goes, we have no official information, however, they game may come out in 2024 or 2025, based on comments during the financial report for Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive.
In a financial report, Take-Two Interactive, the owners of Rockstar Games said that they’re planning to release twenty-four ‘immersive core’ games in the Financial Year 2023 to 2025. So we can split the difference and predict that GTA 6 will probably be released in the year 2024 or 2025 with those games.
Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re planning a Grand Theft Auto release among them, as Take-Two Interactive also owns 2K and Private Division, who make games that would fall into this category. 2K for example make the annual sports titles such as the WWE series of games and the NBA series of games, which are huge money makers for the company.
Still, it’s enough to make fans hope that we might see a release sooner rather than later.
Grand theft auto 6 could have been announced on March 17th.
The reason behind this speculation stems from Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar, scheduling an investor call on May 17th. However, there was no news given on a real release date for Grand Theft Auto 6.
In the past, investor calls have given us insights into a company’s ongoing projects, including game development and titles. As a result, it’s reasonable to expect that we might learn some information about GTA 6 during this call. However, we may not get an exact release date just yet.
Even if the GTA 6 announcement doesn’t happen on May 17th, another important date is approaching. September will mark the 10-year anniversary of the highly successful GTA 5, which could be an ideal time for Rockstar to unveil their next installment.
The anticipation for GTA 6 continues to grow, with many considering it to be the most significant game of the decade. Adding to the excitement is the rumored development cost, surpassing a staggering $1 billion. This budget is four times higher than the previous game, GTA 5, released in 2013.
This enormous investment indicates that Rockstar is sparing no expense to create a gaming experience that will captivate audiences and redefine the open-world genre.
Grand Theft Auto 6 News
Earlier in the year, Rockstar Games themselves released a statement that reads as follows:
“With the unprecedented longevity of GTA V, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered- and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway.”
This confirms something that many already knew and suspected: Grand Theft Auto 6, in whatever form this comes.
With the sheer popularity of Grand Theft Auto Online, it’s worth noting that Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive may favor a pivot to a less story-focused game than previous iterations of the series, a way to keep Grand Theft Auto Online going as long as possible.
Of course, this is all pure guesswork at this stage, we really don’t know much about the game. This is the only snippet of real confirmed news we have about GTA 6, the rest is pure speculation.
Rockstar GTA 6 Major Leaks
One of the biggest leaks in gaming history took place on September 18th, 2022. Real footage of GTA 6, as corroborated by Rockstar themselves, was stolen and posted onto the GTA forums for the world to see, with users initially doubting its authenticity.
The footage in question appears to show a very, very early version of Grand Theft Auto 6. Fans of the games have been sharing the footage on Twitter; however, Rockstar has been taking legal action to prevent the footage from getting too far out into the world.
These leaks have caused some people to be concerned over a potential delay to the game. Luckily, in their statement, Rockstar made it clear that while these leaks are disappointing for developers and players alike, they shouldn’t affect the timeframe of GTA 6’s release.
GTA 6 Playable Characters
We now know that the female protagonist in GTA 6 will be named Lucia and the male will be named Jason. This is the first time we have seen a female playable character in a GTA storyline, bar GTA Online, where you could play as a female online character. The characters will be inspired by the popular crime duo Bonnie and Clyde.
The player will be able to switch between characters at any time, adding an element of planning and strategy to the game, the two characters will also be able to “hang out” with each other, much like in previous GTA titles, only this time in GTA 6 we will have a wider array of activities to participate in.
GTA 6 Map rumors
It is rumored that GTA 6 will take place in a modern-day Vice City, a fictional city based in Miami. Vice City was also the setting of GTA: Vice City and many players have expressed their excitement and support for this decision.
The map is rumored to be bigger than that of GTA 5, featuring urban and non-urban areas. With many more accessible interiors than ever before. As for exactly how much bigger the map will be, we don’t know only time will tell. The time frame in which GTA 6 will take place is said to be after the events of GTA 5, opening up the possibility for cameos with GTA 5’s characters.
GTA 6 Police / Cop AI
In addition to the advancements made to the map design and charger design, According to leaks, Cops are getting a massive overhaul in terms of their AI. Cops are now much smarter and use advanced tactics to apprehend the player’s character. You will have the ability to bribe the police to avoid getting caught, presumably similar to the Lester system of GTA 5 online.
It will no longer be possible to respray your car to evade the police, you will need to switch vehicles completely to throw them off. This puts an end to a long-standing Pay & Spray feature that has been in GTA since GTA 3.
CCTV cameras play a part in the new law enforcement system, if you are caught committing a crime on CCTV, cops will be alerted. Locals will also recognize you if you are wanted, and alert the authorities. You will need to hide out in a safehouse or motel until the heat dies down.
GTA 6 NPCs
It has been rumored that Rockstar will implement a system into GTA 6 that is similar in part to the RDR2 NPC system, allowing you to interact with NPCs during normal gameplay. Leaks suggest that like RDR2, you will have the option to greet, antagonize, and rob NPCs.
NPCs will have more complex reactions towards the player’s actions, and act differently depending on their mood or feelings toward the player. You will also have the option to use NPCs as human shields, as well as tie them up – much like in RDR2.
The level of interactivity with the environment and NPCs is sure to make GTA 6 an even more immersive and engaging experience for players.
The highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) continues to generate excitement and speculation among fans. While official information about the game remains limited, leaks and rumors have provided some insights into what players can expect.
One key aspect of GTA 6 is the predicted release date. Based on comments from Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, it is reasonable to anticipate a release in 2024. However, it’s important to note that Take-Two Interactive owns multiple game development studios, so the release could pertain to other titles as well.
While leaks and rumors provide a glimpse into GTA 6, it’s important to approach them with caution, as details are subject to change. Fans eagerly await official announcements from Rockstar, hoping for an extraordinary gaming experience that lives up to the hype surrounding this highly anticipated title.
We hope you enjoyed this GTA 6 predicted release date article.
