Halo Infinite has had an impressive launch with the multiplayer releasing ahead of schedule, and the campaign portion of the game being well received by players around the world. However, there are some missing features in both modes such as Forge and coop which have been a main staple in the franchise for many years, leaving some a little annoyed.

There are loose dates attached for when both Forge and co-op will be making an appearance in Halo Infinite but if you want to exercise the game breaker in you, there’s a chance you might be able to get into some co-op action earlier than intended.

If you want to be a little naughty and play Halo Infinite’s campaign co-op early, there is in fact a cheeky glitch you can take advantage of to get your adventures in Zeta Halo going with a friend. Luckily for you, we’ll be listing everything you need to do below so that you can make your way through the Banished like a knife through butter.

This exploit was seemingly found by Twitter user @nobleactual4 who posted an in-game video or some split-screen co-op action:

However, before we continue, there are some caveats. If you do glitch your way into campaign co-op, you won’t have the same experience as you would playing single player. There are huge limitations such as no story progression, FOBs not working as intended, and player 2 simply won’t have a HUD, so actually playing through the campaign’s narrative is impossible. It’s also local co-op only so you will have to sit right next to someone in your own home like the good old times. What it does allow, however, is you to run around with a fellow Spartan in the Zeta Halo playground and kill a few Banished along the way.

Now, with all the warnings out the way, here’s how to play campaign co-op early in Halo Infinite.

Here are all the steps you need to follow to get a second player into Halo Infinite’s campaign mode.

  • Start Halo Infinite offline
  • Hook up a second controller
  • Sign into your Xbox account
  • Start campaign
  • When in the campaign press start and then back
  • Now move to your second controller and press start to add another Spartan to your fireteam
  • You should now be able to play Halo Infinite’s campaign in co-op!

As previously stated, glitching into campaign co-op is something that’s quite frankly a broken mess so we wouldn’t particularly recommend it but if you’re just looking to mess around with a friend there’s certainly no harm in it!
