Update: See bottom of page:

Microsoft has just dropped the multiplayer experience for Halo Infinite weeks ahead of the launch date as a special treat during the Xbox Anniversary stream.

Needless to say, the servers are hammered right now and people are struggling to jump in and experience what the game has to offer. Let’s dig deeper into what you might be experiencing if you are anything like us.

Is Halo down right now? Halo Infinite multiplayer not loading

As is often the way with big new games launches the people are ahead of the developers. In this case it seems that most people had pre-loaded the game but hadn’t actually got the 25GB game file itself. On top of that, the update wasn’t pushed to people’s systems at the same time meaning that you might have to force the update yourself.

If you get a blue screen that says “GameStubWindows” and nothing further from there when trying to load the game via the PC or console Xbox app then the steps below should help fix it.

We guess it was always going to happen. The world was waiting for the surprise so there is no real shock that servers are struggling. Halo Support has just tweeted the following message.

If you are on an Xbox you can go to My Games & Apps and force the update from there. You can also restart your Xbox and that should also work.

We also believe the Steam version is working fine. If you are trying to play with the Xbox Game Pass app on PC you may well need to delete the Pre-Install file (it’s only small) and start downloading again. If it is going to work, and hopefully it now should it will start to download a 25GB file.

This is slightly annoying for all though who had thought they would pre-download in anticipation. Download speeds seem “okay” at the moment though so you should be in, in just a few minutes if you have half-decent internet.
