Simon Pegg & cast announcement for Hogwarts Legacy
The headline news here is that Simon Pegg has been cast in a major role. This is a role we’re keen to see Pegg play, after his more villainous roles like The Chamberlain in Dark Crystal and Unkar Plutt in The Force Awakens.
Warner Bros and Avalanche Games have confirmed that the Hot Fuzz star will play Phineas Nigellus Black, a “cantankerous Headmaster” who comes from “a long lineage of Slytherins”.
More than that, Phineas is said to be “hated by the students” and wildly “ill-suited to his job”. He is also an ancestor of Sirius Black. The easter eggs and name-dropping was something we’ve expected, which we highlighted more in this article here.
The video below sheds more light on Pegg’s character.
The deputy head will be Professor Matilda Weasley, an ancestor to Ron Weasley and his siblings, with Lesley Nicol providing her voice. Let’s help she’s an example of the Weasley’s good nature, and is more of a helping hand than it seems Pegg’s Black will be.
Luke Youngblood, who played Lee Jordan in the Harry Potter films, has also been confirmed for a role. Youngblood will voice a new character named Everett Clopton, who is “a Ravenclaw and a half-blood underachieving rule-breaker and prankster.” This isn’t something we can say we’re surprised about, considering the company Lee Jordan kept in the Harry Potter books (Fred and George Weasley).
Other notable mentions are the two new leads, we can assume, in Sebastian Croft or Amelia Gething, who will lend their voices to the main characters you will go on to customise.

You might also notice the exciting reappearance of old Harry Potter characters in Nearly Headless Nick and the Sorting Hat. You learn more about those character appearances here!
