So many modern releases are getting larger file sizes to the point they take up over 100gb on our systems. This really limits the number of games we can install as some systems only come with 500gb of storage as a base. With Honkai Star Rail releasing soon, many are curious about how much space they will need for it. Let’s go over the file size of Honkai Star Rail and how much space it will take up.
Honkai Star Rail File Size
Since Honkai Star Rail is a mobile game ported over to PC, we can expect the size to be quite small. For PC, the download will be around 10 to 11gb and will fully unpack to take up around 13gb of space once fully installed. This isn’t too bad compared to other games that end up taking over 100gb if you choose to fully install all of their features.

The mobile version of Star Rail will take up even less space. Coming in at around 7gb when fully installed on a mobile device. This makes sense as the mobile version will have lower-resolution textures and files compared to the HD textures that are needed for the PC install.
The smaller file size also means that the installation will be much faster for those that have slower connection speeds. While other games could take up to a day or so to fully install, you won’t need more than a few hours to get Star Rail downloaded and ready to play.
Of course, the amount of space that Star Rail takes up will most likely go up over time as more content is added to the game and new banners come out with new characters. Though the size increases shouldn’t be too much, so you don’t need to worry. It will most likely be only a few gigabytes of size onto the files after some major updates.
