Honkai Star Rail has just been released and everyone is looking to get the strongest characters available right out of the game. many gacha games have a first free roll that players will reset their account over and over to make sure they get the best character possible out of. Let’s go over the best characters tier list in Honkai Star Rail.

Honkai Star Rail Character Tier List

Trying to make the best team available in Honkai Star Rail is going to require the best characters you can get at the moment. While this list is sure to change, here are the top-tier characters you can grab right now.

S+ Characters

The best of the best that you can get right now and even some that are coming a bit later. Jing Yuan stands out the most as he is not coming until the second part of the big 1.0 launch banner. However, going out of your way to pick him up will be very beneficial. Jing Yuan features great AOE damage through his mastery of the lighting element.

On the other hand, Seele can be picked up right now during the first part of the 1.0 banner. Although you might have to make Honkai a no longer free to play game do to so. Seele might be worth it as she is a Hunt path character, allowing her to accel at single target damage. Thus making her great for boss fights.

Pair either of these DPS characters with Bailu, who is the best healer in the game at the moment. Having Bailu around will make sure that your party stays in full health and can keep fighting without worrying about dying.

Finally, we have Clara to fulfill a nice off-tank sort of role in any party while still being able to dish out some damage when needed. Her robot Svarog is where a lot of the power comes from and allows her to not only deal out some strong hits but take a few back with her ult.

S Characters

While these characters are not the greatest, they are still quite solid options to use if you need them. One of the most standout options here is the Fire Trailblazer as they are your starting character. Just because you get them for free at the start of the game doesn’t make them useless as the fire variant is able to deal insane damage through the stacking of Magma Will.

We also have Welt in this tier who is a powerful all-around character. While he doesn’t accel at any one thing, his ability to provide a bit of everything is what makes him so strong. Welt is able to cover a supporting role in a party but can also deal a bit of damage as a DPS in a pinch.

A Characters

Going down another tier we have most of the starting Trailblazers. Both the Destruction and Perservation Trailblazer are both alright options if you have nothing else but definitely won’t carry you through tougher content like other characters would. However, since they are free characters you can get, they should always be kept in mind.

There is also Pela who is a great combo DPS through her ice attacks. She can freeze enemies where they stand leaving them vulnerable to attacks from your other allies. While this sounds great, the issue is her lack of damage that Pele does alone which is quite low. Making her only shine when paired with another DPS character.

B Characters

Although quite low on the list, don’t count out any characters down here. Dan Heng stands out as another free character you are given during the tutorial that focuses on the wind element and the Hunt path. Making him quite the powerful DPS in a pinch.

Qingque is a bit of an enigma as she is an Erudution character that should specialize in multi-target attacks, however, she starts her combos with single-target damage. This lands her quite low on the list but once she gets going she can deal with packs of enemies quite well.

C Characters

Though they are at the bottom of the list, they are not entirely useless characters if you happen to get them. The Physical form of Trailblazer should be your last option for used forms, but can still work if needed. Just make sure to switch back to Fire or Destruction as soon as you can.

Serval is also quite the strong character for farming but not great for the tougher combat encounters. However, playing her to her strengths will make sure she has a spot when you need materials and the like.

As more characters come out in Honkair Star Rail, this list is sure to change. Any balance changes can easily send these characters up and down a tier depending on what happens with the meta or what content is being farmed at the moment.
