Horizon Forbidden West’s Drowned Hopes side quest takes Aloy through a mysterious storyline where she ventures No Man’s Land. The quest is available in Camp Nowhere from Corend, who is the local Rumor Talker. You should be around level 22 if you want to have an easy time completing it. Completing Drowned Hopes rewards you with 5,500 XP, two skill points, and the Guardian Tripcaster weapon.

How to Complete Drowned Hopes in Horizon Forbidden West

The Drowned Hopes side quest can be started in two ways. You can talk to Corend who is the rumor talker in the area, or you can head to the Carja Camp and talk to the Carja scholars. We recommend taking the second option as it skips some objectives and lets you breeze past the mission.

Talk to the Carja scholars at the camp and you will get to know that they have found a relic that seems to be part of a weapon. You will have two quest steps to choose from and it does not matter which one you take as both of them need to be completed. Kill the machines in the marked area and investigate the submerged ruins. You need a Diving Mask for this quest step and if you don’t have one, simply complete The Sea of Sands main quest.

Once you are done investigating the ruins, find a security console that will lead to two additional consoles that you need to interact with. Once you are inside the ruins, search for the Mobile Cover System and you will find three locks that you need to unlock for the Vault key. Inside, you will find the Mobile Cover System to craft the weapon. Once you have what you need, return to the Carja Scholars and craft the Guardian Tripcaster to end the quest.
