Leveling up in Horizon Forbidden West grants access to main story quests, and allows players to collect Skills. These skills ultimately aid Aloy’s survival in the game, so it’s a good idea to collect them. There are multiple ways in which you can speed up the leveling process in Horizon Forbidden West, and we’ll go through each one.

How to Level Up Quickly in Horizon Forbidden West?

Here are some of the most effective ways to level up in the game, with minimum grinding. Most of these take place in the open world.

Side Quests

Side Quests are one of the best ways to gain XP and skills in Horizon Forbidden West. Travel to new settlements like Chainscape and Plainsong in order to meet new characters and get assigned new side quests. Not all side quests are equal, so check out the rewards before undertaking them. Don’t underestimate Errands – they can give you a lot of XP as well.

Liberate Rebel Camps

Once you locate large enemy encampments, you can infiltrate their numbers and work to kill the leader, automatically liberating the camp. They provide less XP than side quests, but you’re more likely to gain skill points through this method.

Cauldrons

Travel to dungeon-like spaces called Cauldrons, and work on overriding machines. This is a great way to earn a lot of XP rewards.

Relic Ruins

There are nine relic ruins in the game. They involve locating the relic, solving a puzzle, and then collecting an Ornament or loot. In turn, Aloy gets XP rewards.

Tallnecks

Tallnecks are the giraffes in the Horizon Forbidden West world. If you can climb them, you can see a larger area, and this clears the fog from your map. However, you’ll need to override the Tallnecks to do this. This gives a large bonus of 7500 XP. They’re also difficult to come across in the game, so make sure to override one when you do.

All of these methods are a great way to gain XP and skill points in Horizon Forbidden West, and help you get better at the game.
