Shadow in the West is an optional quest in Horizon Forbidden West that involves a face-off against Vezreh. With Eclipse holdouts gathering in the Forbidden West, it is up to Aloy to stop the Eclipse army from being rebuilt after the Battle of the Light. The quest rewards players with 2,500 XP, 3 Skill Points, and Saved the Daunt trophy.
How to Complete Shadow in the West in Horizon Forbidden West
Shadow in the West’s questline triggers automatically after you complete its pre-requisite mission Shadow from the Past. During the previous mission, Aloy found out about the leader of the eclipse and the hideout in the west. It is time to finally put an end to the Eclipse’s activities and protect the Daunt.
Players start the mission by heading to the Eclipse Hideout coordinates where you find more information about the leader. Once you reach the area, you have to kill a bunch of Eclipse enemies as well as their machines. Once you clear out the camp, talk to the Utaru Prisoner and help him out.
Follow the quest marker and head inside the ancient door. Once you free some more prisoners who are being held captive by Vezreh and his men, you will proceed to Vezreh’s Chamber. After a long conversation, you will have to fight him and a Ravager. It is one of the trickier boss fights in the game if you don’t know what you are doing. You should focus on the Ravager first and then proceed to take down Vezreh.
There are a lot of stone pillars you can hide behind and you should take advantage of them. Players should also use a Spike Thrower if they have one in your inventory to deal massive damage to the Ravager. After the fight, make your way out of Vezreh’s chamber and talk to Yef about your findings of the Eclipse.
