The Arena is a new addition to Horizon Forbidden West and the goal of the new PVE activity is to quickly take down machines. There are multiple stages that you need to beat, and if you succeed, you get rewarded for your efforts. There is also a global leaderboard that you can try to be a part of if you believe you have what it takes to be among the best in the world.

How Does The Arena Work in Horizon Forbidden West?

Here is a breakdown of how The Arena works in Horizon Forbidden West. As a player, The Arena is where you can test your combat abilities and builds. It is also a great place to fight against tougher enemies in the game in a controlled environment. There are tons of trials to choose from and each of them comes with a unique final challenge to beat which typically includes fights with larger machines.

As you enter The Arena, you will be tasked with fighting against hordes of machines with only one set of gear. Players have to plan and choose their gear carefully as they won’t be allowed to make any changes once locked in. However, to ensure all players have an even footing when competing for the global leaderboards, a fixed loadout is presented when competing in the final challenges. You will get a pre-determined armor set and weapons to fight with along with materials to craft ammo on the go.

The leaderboard only counts the final challenges, which means that someone else can hop in with a better build and beat you. The Arena’s leaderboards are a proving ground for player skill and if you have the makings of an apex hunter of the Forbidden West, you will be able to make it to the leaderboards.
