The Broken Sky is one of the main quests in Horizon Forbidden West and follows the quest The Eye of the Earth. The recommended player level for The Broken Sky is Level 17 since it is a longer quest than most others and involves defeating a Tremortusk. In this quest, Aloy has to recover Aether, a lost GAIA sub-ordinate function.

Here’s how to successfully complete the quest.

  1. Travel to Memorial Grove to start the quest. You’ll meet Dekka and start a conversation with her, and she will send you to Chief Hekkaro. On your way to meet the Chief, make sure to interact with all Hologram Datapoints. Speak to Chief Hekkaro who will tell you how to help him.
  2. Travel to the Stone Crest. Here you’ll find Kotallo waiting for you, and follow him. On the way to The Bulwark, you will encounter Regalla’s rebels. Aloy can either fight or sneak past them.
  3. Meet Tekotteh along with Kotallo, and then go back to the wall after the conversation. Using focus, scan the ancient generator to reveal a highlighted path.
  4. Now, return to the rebel base camp. Aloy and Kotallo plan to blow up the wall, but they see the rebels overriding a Tremortusk to use against the Sky People. Aloy must fight to defeat the Tremortusk. Players can use nearby Ravager weapons to fight against the Tremortusk.
  5. The Tremortusk is weak to Frost damage, so use nearby Chillwater and Front machine corpses to defeat the machine. Aim for the underbelly of the Tremorktusk which slows it down considerably. You can also shoot the tusks and guns to build up the frost damage.
  6. After killing the Tremortusk, loot its cannon and head back to the Bulwark. Here, you can use the cannon to destroy the ancient generator on the Bulwark, which causes the entire collapse. Return to Aether to complete the quest.

The Broken Sky is completed and gives the player +11,050 XP, two Skill Points, and one Tenakth Conqueror Face Paint. The next quest players have to complete is The Kulrut.
