The Valley of the Fallen is a side quest that appears in the midgame after completing the main quest The Kulrut. The recommended character level for the quest is 28 and it awards a massive 7,000 XP and two skill points. Many dangerous machines have gathered in the Valley of the Fallen and it is up to Aloy to investigate why the machines are forcing the Tenakth to abandon their territory.

How to Complete The Valley of the Fallen in Horizon Forbidden West

The quest starts in the Memorial Grave after completing The Kulrut. Once you have the side quest, travel to the Valley of the Fallen and go to the entrance where Ivvira is waiting. Talk to the NPC and parkour your way up. If you have difficulty making it to the top, use your Focus to light up ledges that you can grab.

Once you climb up, head to the Waterfall and search for a lure, and head to the south of the Horus. Kill the machines that block your path and find a second lure device. You now need to climb a large wall to find your way to the next lure. There are many machines here and we recommend all of them for some bonus XP. Once you have all the lures, head to the checkpoint.

Talk to the wounded Tenakth and defend her against the machines. Override the lures and talk to Ivvira once you are done. There will be some dialogue after which the quest will automatically end.

The Valley of the Fallen is one of the best quests to complete in the midgame because of the sheer amount of XP it offers. The quest also tasks you with killing a bunch of machines along the way that can offer you some rare materials and much-needed resources.
