When you want to get a better look at the map in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you need to activate a few Skyview Towers. Each tower you activate reveals the surrounding portion of the map.
Each Skyview Tower in the game requires you to solve a small puzzle if you want to activate it. For the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower, this means you will need to find an alternate path into the tower. How to unlock the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
If you want to get inside the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower, you will need to take a different approach than walking through the entrance and using the terminal. When you reach the tower, it will be locked. A nearby NPC will tell you that the roof was knocked off by falling debris.
If you want to access the tower, you will need to go through the top of the tower. Look around to find falling ruins. Once you locate a fallen piece, climb on top of it and use Recall. This will reverse time for the piece of stone.
When you reach the land mass that the ruined piece fell off of, step off and dive back down to the ground. You will see the opening at the top of the tower. Use your paraglider to glide over to the hole. Afterward, dive down through the top and use your glider to land safely.
Be sure to conserve your stamina on the way down so you don’t plummet. Use the terminal inside the tower to get the doors open.

If you want to find the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower, you will want to head to the northeast after going through Lookout Landing. Following the roadways and they will run near the tower, making it rather easy to spot.
When you find the tower, you will need to do a bit of mountain climbing since the terrain is pretty rocky, but it won’t take you very long.
