When you want to reveal the map in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you will want to track down a few Skyview Towers. These towers show you the map of the surrounding area so you can more easily find your way.
If you want to reveal the Gerudo Desert, you will want to activate the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower. Of course, it isn’t that simple. You have a puzzle to solve. This guide will show you how to activate the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How to unlock the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Hyrule is a large place and revealing the map with help with exploration. Unfortunately, almost all of the towers require you to perform certain actions to activate them. When you reach the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower, search for an NPC named Sawson.
Sawson can be found at the bottom of some scaffolding next to the tower. He will be trying to get up to the tower but the nearby elevator is broken and the counterweight is gone. Climb up the elevator to the platform above.
Next to the tower, you will see large metal crates next to some long pieces of wood. Use Ultrahand to pick up the metal boxes and fuse them to the remaining piece of the elevator’s counterweight. It will take three metal cubes to raise the elevator platform.
You can also use the Ultrahand ability to pull the counterweight down to make things go a bit faster. Once Sawson is at the time, he will fix the device in the tower. Sawson will reward you with some Chilly Steamed Mushrooms.
You will now be able to interact with the pedestal in the tower, activating it and revealing more of Hyrule’s map, and creating a new fast travel point.

Where is the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower located in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
The Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower is located in the southwestern part of the map. From Central Hyrule, head to the southwest portion of the map. The tower is easy to spot on top of some large cliffs in the area.
On the way to the tower, you will pass by Elemental Lizalfos. Make sure to take them out before continuing on to the tower. You will be able to spot the makeshift lift below the tower on your way up the cliffs.
