How to complete the Eyes in the Dark quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley has quests galore for each of the many residents. The Pride of the Valley update introduced Nala and Simba to the valley as well as the Lion King realm. If you want to unlock Nala, you first need to be friends with her. To be friends, you need to help her solve an issue she is having in the jungle. Travel to the Lion King realm and complete the Eyes in the Dark quest to show Nala how good of a friend you are.
Eyes in the Dark walkthrough — Disney Dreamlight Valley
To begin the Eyes in the Dark quest, you first need to unlock the Lion King realm. Head into Dream Castle and you will find the Lion King realm door near the door to the Frozen realm. To unlock this door, you will need to spend 10,000 Dreamlight. Once the door is open, you will automatically start the Eyes in the Dark quest.
Head into the newly opened realm and talk to Nala. She will tell you that she is having trouble with hyenas before running off. Use your shovel, to collect the Dried-up Thorn Bushes to get the Thorn Bush Seeds. With all five of them collected, plant them around the area where Nala ran off. Water them to grow the thorn bushes and block the hyenas.
You will get a cutscene showing Nala jumping over the thorn bush. Talk to Nala afterward to continue the quest. You need to find Simba now. To do this, start by heading over to the cave entrance and using your shovel to dig up the stumps. Go into the jungle and talk to Nala. You now need to cross the river using the log. To knock down the log, use your pickaxe on the rocks beneath it.

With the log knocked down, cross the river and you will find Simba. Talk to him and tell repeat the phrase “Hakuna Matata” to calm him down. Bring him back to Nala and he will ask you to gather some bugs to create a meal. Fish in the river to get some of the Slimy Bugs. To get the Colorful Bugs, head back to the dried-up oasis and dig up the different areas. Afterward, head back to where you met Simba and pry up the stumps to find Red Bugs.
With all the bugs obtained, head back to the valley and craft three Bug Platters at a cooking station. Bring the Bug Platters back to Simba and Nala so they can eat. Afterward, head back to the valley and talk to Scrooge. Scrooge will give you a Broken Sound System. Head over to a crafting station to fix it. You will need the following materials:
- 10 Softwood
- 5 Hardwood
- 2 Iron Ingot
- 1 Broken Sound System
With the Sound System fixed, bring it to Nala. She and Simba will use the Sound System to scare off the hyenas. With the hyenas gone, Nala will be happy to return to the valley. Place Pride Rock wherever you would like (Sunlit Plateau obviously). After Pride Rock is built, Nala will return to the valley. Talk to her to complete the quest.
