Shrines are some of the most important puzzles to beat in Nintendo’s latest entry in the long-running Zelda series, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The sequel to the popular Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, this new adventure lets Link journey through Hyrule once again, collecting orbs to increase his health and stamina.

These orbs, the Light of Blessings, are found after completing the shrines, so if you’re having trouble with them, we’re here to guide you. This walkthrough will show you how to complete the Sepapa Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom after beating the Great Sky Island, which then opens all the shrines in the overworld below.

How to beat the Sepapa Shrine in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

When you first enter this shrine, there will be stairs leading up to a moving platform. Run up those stairs and use your Recall ability on the moving platform so you can jump on it and ride it up to the upper area.

The next room will have a torch for you to pick up in front of the closed gate, so do that and then head to the river to the right, with lit fire torches in it. The river will have a wooden raft floating down it. Use Rewind again on the raft so you can ride it past the lamps to light your torch. Once you’re at the end of the river, jump up to the floor and cancel Recall. You can then ride the raft in its normal direction back to the other side, where you then light the lamps and the gate will open.

The final room will have two closed gates leading up to the reward for the shrine. Head to your right, and you’ll see two slots for the familiar shrine ball to be placed in. There is only one ball, however, so head up, use your Ultrahand abilities to grab it, and place it in the closest slot first, which correlates to the second gate. Then, pick it up and place it in the lower slot, which correlates to the first gate. Leave it on the lower slot and head over and run up the ramp to the closed second gate. Make sure you are past the first one! From there, you can use Recall once again on the shrine ball so it will reverse back to the higher slot and open the second gate. Run up and get the sweet Light of Blessing rewards.

The treasure chest for this shrine is located across the river on the floor you ride to on the raft in the second area. It’s held up by some ivy on the wall, which you can burn down the vines with your torch (or a fire arrow if you wish) and the chest will fall to you. Inside the chest is a Strong Construct Bow. You can come back to this chest even if you’ve moved to the next area.
