Resident Evil 4 Remake is filled with small request for you to complete as you progress through the game. Completing these request will reward you with Spinel that you can trade for various items from the merchant. One of the many requests that you will obtain is called A Savage Mutt and it requires you to track down and kill a powerful dog. Get ready, this dog is mean and won’t go down easily. Here is how you can defeat the savage mutt in Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Where to find the savage mutt in Resident Evil 4 Remake
The savage mutt request can be obtained during chapter five of the game after you make it back to the village square with Ashley. Your objective will be to get to the extraction point, but you can make a detour to the Village Chief’s House for this request. The Village Chief’s House is located to the south of the village square section of the map.
Be aware that the savage mutt won’t be where it is marked on the map and it can also move. When you track down the mutt at the Village Chief’s House, search the property until you locate it. It can appear in or around the house so keep your guard up. The dog can even run down to village square if you aren’t paying attention.

How to defeat the savage mutt in Resident Evil 4 Remake
The savage mutt isn’t an easy foe to defeat. This powerful dog isn’t like the ones you have fought up to this point. This dog is infected with Los Plagos and has the parasite growing out of its back. Before hunting this dog down, gather up some weapons at the merchant. You will want to have plenty of ammo for your pistol and shotgun if you have one.
When confronting the savage mutt, aim for the parasite on its back. This is the dog’s weak spot. Damaging the parasite will cause the most damage to the dog, stunning it frequently. Since the savage mutt has moves frequently, shotguns are effective at keeping it at bay. Avoid using guns that require more accuracy like SMGs. You can also use grenades should you have them available.
