If you’re itching to explore the universe, trade all sorts of goods, and fight through the galaxies, Cloud Imperium Games title Star Citizen is the game for you. Star Citizen is ambitious in its scope, even in its alpha state, with plenty of places for fans to explore, and pirates and quests to check out.
Of course, you’ll need to stay healthy while you journey in your starfarer, and drinking is vital to keeping your character going (and from dying of dehydration). How do you drink in Star Citizen? We’ll let you know.
Star Citizen – How to drink
In order to actually drink anything, you’ll need to purchase something to drink first. You can buy drinks from any spaceport, and there are a variety of spots in those spaceports to grab them, including food courts in Rest & Relax space stations and in common areas at spaceports, like Ellroy’s at New Babbage.
Once you’ve purchased something to drink, you’ll need to grab your drink out of your backpack. Press the I key on your keyboard to open your physical item inventory, and you’ll see all of your goodies, including unopened food and beverages. Remember to take off your helmet in the menus first if you have one equipped! You don’t want to smash your water up against your visor.
Right-click using your mouse on your drink and click the drink option. Exit the inventory and your selected drink will be in your hand. You’ll want to press the F key and drink will once again come up as an option.
Select it and you’ll take a sip. If you want to drink the entire thing, right before you take the sip, hold down on the left click and you will instead keep drinking until it’s gone, or you let go of the key. This will quench your thirst need.
What can you drink in Star Citizen?
Star Citizen has a couple of beverages to choose from, each with slightly different effects on your character. These drinks include:
- Synergy Energy Drinks
- Vestal Bottled Water
- Smoltz Beer
- Fizzz Cola
- Cruz Optimal Nutrition Drink
There are plenty more to find around to replenish your character and many will have effects beyond just filling up your hydration, like replenishing nutrition and hunger as well. Some drinks will even have small negative effects, like alcoholic beverages. Try as many as you can to figure out what you like best.
