It is not uncommon to have to deal with glitches and error codes in a game nowadays. Many games have online servers and login information to deal with. Others have you waiting in a queue for hours. That’s why it is not surprising that Diablo 4 is having a few issues.

Many individuals have gotten error code 316005 when attempting to play the game. There are errors that deal with disconnection issues and server instability. Luckily, Blizzard Entertainment should be fixing those. This guide will show you how to fix error code 316005 in Diablo 4.

How do you fix error code 316005 in Diablo 4?

Error code 316005 shows up when you attempt to make a new character. Luckily, there is a simple fix to this problem. To fix error code 316005 in Diablo 4, you will need to go in and manually delete your characters. This answer is the same, regardless of whether you’re on the Xbox Series X or PC, unfortunately.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to delete them all. Diablo IV gives you a maximum of 10 character slots. Each character can be played through the prologue and the entire story without any account penalties. Once you hit 10, however, you cannot create any more.

After 10 characters have been created, attempting to create another will get you the error code. At this point, your only solution is to delete at least one of your characters to make room for another one. Only the account owner can remove a character.

Once a character has been deleted, the error message will be gone and you can make another character with a random name. Just remember that you cannot exceed 10 characters in the game. So keep in mind that you are limited when you make a new name or stick to default names.

And on that note, be sure not to have offensive content or inappropriate wording in the character name or you may get an account suspension because of the code of conduct.

Be sure that the character you pick is not an active member of the clan you are a part of, or you may not get another clan or party invitation. Always be vocal in the chat that you are deleting a character or whisper it to anyone affected. Unlike most video games, your existing friends are a big part of adventuring and may have plans for that specific class in a future raid.

There is no way to purchase more character slots, at least on at this time of writing. If the game service adds a way to do this, we will update this article.

There are many other problems that have affected Diablo 4 such as network disconnect issues, trouble finding a valid license for the game, and even a temporary outage that occurred. Luckily, you shouldn’t have much trouble getting past this error message and back into the game where you can rejoin your friends online for some awesome party action.
