Diablo 4 has plenty of enemies for you to fight, and they will keep getting tougher as you progress through the game. To defeat them, you can use weapons or skills, with some coming with different Status Ailments, such as Chill. In this guide, we will explain how to freeze enemies in Diablo 4 using Chill.

How can I freeze enemies in Diablo 4?

To freeze enemies in Diablo 4, you need to use the Chilled Status Ailment. For those who don’t know, Status Ailments can be used on enemies through weapons, runes, talents, and skills. Some enemies move pretty quickly in the game, and you can use Chill to slow down their movement. However, using it multiple times on an enemy will freeze them.

For instance, Sorceress has a skill called Deep Freeze. This skill allows the player to deal damage while Chilling enemies in the process for 20%. If the skill is used a total of five times on the enemy, it will freeze them as Chill will be at 100%. Aside from this specific Sorceress skill, there are plenty of other skills that can help inflict the same effect on enemies.

This is excellent for times when you’re either facing a powerful enemy that is difficult to take down or a monster that moves around quickly. Such effects can help with quickly taking down the enemy, as you can perform powerful attacks while they’re unable to move. However, you will need to be quick with your attacks.

It is important to note that if a frozen enemy is killed, the corpse will be shattered, and nothing will be left behind. Furthermore, remember that bosses can not be frozen. Instead, they receive Stagger. In other words, bosses can be Chilled and their movement speed will be reduced, but they will not freeze like regular enemies.
